Editor’s comment Improving patient care does not always follow a pre-planned and pre-determined course. Improvements often evolve through an interdisciplinary/team approach which encompasses patient desires and views. This descriptive study reflects how an orthopaedic team have organised themselves and used this approach to carry care improvements forward. The work is not intended to be generalizable but contains a wealth of advice from experience.
