Book review
Article Outline
This book is a must for all orthopaedic nurses and health care professionals. It covers all the main essential areas for orthopaedics. Beginning with anatomical terminology, and then moving to basic anatomy and function of the musculoskeletal system. Regions of the body are covered in separate chapters with anatomy followed by common orthopaedic conditions, rheumatology and trauma.
The illustrations are excellent and easy to follow and include diagrams, X-rays and tables. The health care professional new to the specialty of orthopaedics will find it invaluable and the more experienced will find the breadth of coverage useful when they need to refresh their knowledge in areas they have not had recent practice in. The text is easy to read and understand and not over complicated but crammed with up to date information and tips. Good value for money. Available from www.blackwellmedstudent.com.
