The development orthopaedic trauma nursing in the UK in the 1980s – A personal reflection
Summary
This paper offers a personal view of some of the developments and events that occurred in the 1980s – particularly in the field of trauma – that have shaped orthopaedic nursing practice in that field as we know it today. There were fundamental changes to the way nursing care was organised and in the way in which trauma patients were managed which have led towards improvements in clinical effectiveness.
